Poem of the Month

This month’s featured poem is ‘Hannah’ by Norman Smith.

Norman was born in Edinburgh and is related to J M Barrie, the author of Peter Pan. He has lived most of his life in England. He has visited Japan many times since the early 90’s and is very fond of their poetic form: the haiku. He says he writes to capture fleeting thoughts and moments.

If you click here you can listen to Hannah being read by Helen McLuckie, Norman’s late wife, who died earlier this year. The poem is also featured in this month’s cirenscene.com online magazine.

Not only can you read and hear work by members of the writers’ group on our website, but you can also buy a print copy of the group’s anthology; ‘Off the Wall’ published last summer, at Somewhere Else Café Bar, 65, Castle Street, which features QR codes linking to Audio tracks of poetry, stories and plays, none of which have been created by Artificial Intelligence.
