About

Welcome to Somewhere Else Writers’ Group.

Based in Cirencester, the aim of the group is to encourage creative writing of all kinds amongst its members.

We get together (over several cups of coffee) every Wednesday afternoon in the Somewhere Else Deli Bar in Castle Street to share our work and offer constructive criticism in a friendly and positive way.

We also arrange occasional workshops, broadcast our work on Corinium Radio and have a monthly page in Cirencester Scene, a community magazine delivered to 12,000 homes. Some of us have received recognition in poetry, prose and script-writing competitions and have professional writing ambitions, while others write mainly for pleasure.

Sadly, for practical reasons, we have to keep group numbers small, but we operate a waiting list for anyone keen to join.

We are hugely grateful to the owners and staff of Somewhere Else who provide us with such a great space and service.

And because of their generosity we have named ourselves after them.
