This month’s poem from Somewhere Else Writers is about Butterflies – a particularly topical subject this year, in which extraordinary heat has led to unprecedented migration of butterflies from European and African Countries. It is by Iris Anne Lewis. Widely published, Iris has featured in Black Bough Poetry and Poetry Wales. She has been a prize winner in numerous competitions, including being highly commended in the Wales Poetry Award, the International Welsh Poetry Competition and the Poetry Society’s Stanza Competition 2020. Four of Iris’s poems have also recently been accepted for publication by The Candyman’s Trumpet, an online poetry publication and project organised by Jack Caradoc.
